Known as Dance Dance Revolution or simply “DDR”, the music video game franchise produced by Konami was released to all arcades in Japan in September 1998 and subsequently achieved great success around the world. Nowadays, there are several DDR championships in Norway and the game was even used as a subject in the Music course at the University of Massachusetts. The game consists of a dance mat with four arrows – up, down, left and right – which must be pressed as indicated during the selected song, leading the player to “dance” in rhythm to score.
